This collection is based on a five day ski touring trip across the Tetons, from Idaho to Wyoming. Capturing the intense weather the stunning mountains produce, this collection shares with viewers the grand scale of the area and the beauty nature provides.

This particular painting is of “The Wall” an ominous land feature that the group had to walk in parallel up to and over the continental divide. This was day 3 on the traverse that had proven to be very dangerous and frankly historical avalanche conditions. The light was flat most of the day so the scale of the mountain was obscured. Glimpses of light would hit the surface as patches of sun would roll across the snow field.  The climb on skis was steep but the group made it to the under belly of the wall for a rest and then eventually moved on to the crest of the pass for a well deserved reward and challenge.
